Federal Ministery for Education and Science will fund ACTRIS-D infrastructure for the observation of clouds, aerosol, and trace gases

New National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures
The Federal Ministery of Education and Research laid out its new funding Roadmap. Among two other large scale projects. the "Research infrastructure for atmopsheric aerosol, clouds, and trace gases (ACTRIS-D)" was included, related to an overlall funding budget of 50 million €. Of these LMU-MIM has proposed to spend more than 4 million € for the improvement of our observation infrastructure and its continous operation. A new automatic lidar system will be developed, a European calibration facility for lidar will be established, and the cloud and trace gas observation systems will be extended. These plans are all part of the national contribution to the European ACTRIS activities. More here in German ... .
